President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning urged people to resist "obstructionist Democrats" after news broke that the number of Americans insured under Obamacare fell by 2 million between Jan. 31 and mid-March, adding that his predecessor’s signature legislative achievement was "in a death spiral."
"2 million more people just dropped out of ObamaCare," the president tweeted. "It is in a death spiral. Obstructionist Democrats gave up, have no answer = resist!"
On Monday, Trump spoke of the need to "starve the beast" of Obamacare in order to attract more public support behind the Republican-backed bill to repeal and replace the health care law on the books.
In another critique of Democratic opposition, Trump posited that the minority party in the House and Senate wouldn’t support his bill even if it were "the greatest bill in the history of the world on health care."
