Facebook has pulled down the pages associated with James T. Hodgkinson, the alleged shooter in the congressional baseball game attack, the company said Wednesday.
“We are shocked and saddened by the incident that took place this morning. We have identified and removed the suspect’s profiles for violating our community standards," a Facebook spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
According to media reports, Hodgkinson’s Facebook presence contained posts slamming President Donald Trump and other Republicans. In January 2015, Hodgkinson reportedly posted a political cartoon critical of Rep. Steve Scalise, showing him addressing what appears to be a gathering of members of the Ku Klux Klan, to which Hodgkinson added the note, "He’s a Republican that should Lose His Job, but they Gave Him a Raise."
Scalise was wounded during today’s shooting and is said to be in critical condition.
